Current Beauty Favorites

Favorites are something that I’ve not really done. The most I talk about products is either a review or empties post… I’m exploring new territory here! It’s new and over time will improve. But for the time being, these are products that I’ve been using over and over, my current beauty favorites! I would typically start from left to right, but I think I’ll sort by category: Read more…

#Ad | Staying Cool in the Summer w/ Evian Facial Spray! #EvianSprayInMyBag

Evian Facial Spray

I swear, the weather here has been fickle and annoying. One minute it’s hot and dry, cold and windy or humid and gross. One thing that stays consistent is that my work office is blazing during the summer. I love natural light so I always end up sacrificing being cool with the sun. I mean, doesn’t that just beat all? You escape the heat by going in, not so you can be pummeled by it. (Sorry, had to put in a Breath of Fire 3 reference since I’ve been binging this game right now. ūüėÖ)¬†So what do I do to stay cool or hydrated? I would say my best kept secret is a mist of some sort. I personally like to keep these tiny Evian Facial Spray bottles in my bag or in my office desk. They’re so useful and great on-the-go!

My oldest daughter likes it for school when she does PE. It was also a staple in her gym bag when she was playing indoor soccer. We carry these bottles to amusement parks to for a good cool down between waiting for rides. It’s also handy at the beach! Basically, anywhere you go and need a bit of a cool down. However, there are beauty uses:

NeoStrata Restore Facial Cleanser

Aaaaand, we’re back! Disappeared for a bit there, but I’m definitely back. I decided to take that quick break to really gather my thoughts on the blog and¬†my stash, but now that I have it all figured out, let’s get to work!

Today’s #SampleSunday is another face product. I know, I know, I use a ton of new face products, but its all in the name of blogging. Up for review is the NeoStrata Restore Facial Cleanser.* NeoStrata claims this product to, “start your skin care regimen with a soap-free facial cleanser that gently exfoliates without drying the skin.” Additionally, NeoStrata claims the inclusion of Polyhydroxy Acid Gluconolactone provides anti-aging benefits and that the cleansing removes impurities and makeup and is ideal for all skin types and is gentle enough for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin.

As per usual, we’ll first take a look at the ingredients, the claims and then my experience. If you’re ready, let’s get to it! Starting off with the ingredients (as listed on CosDNA): Read more…

Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads

August is here?! I swear, the older I get, the more the year flies by. Amirite?¬†ūüėȬ†Anywho, let’s get to sampling, shall we? You know how you go to Ulta and there’s the aisle of doom, but there’s also a kiosk section with travel sizes? At least mine does… Anyways, I was on the hunt for a specific product, couldn’t find it, so I picked up the¬†Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads.* I had not seen this around and I was looking for a toner pad to take with me on a trip, so I thought “why not?” Right?

So what are the¬†Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads? According to Juice Beauty, the Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads, “help brighten, smooth and tone while reducing the appearance of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles.” Juice Beauty also states, “these luxurious, eco-friendly bamboo pads are saturated with antioxidant-rich organic fruit acids to brighten while extracts of algae, Vitamin B3 and plant-derived sodium hyaluronate reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as dark spots and discoloration, for optimum age-defying results.” In addition, the brand says these pads are good for almost all skin types, minus those with sensitive or rosacea skin, and for those in their 20’s and up.

Other bits to know, the¬†Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads is formulated without¬†parabens, petroleum, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances. I haven’t mentioned yet, but Juice Beauty is also cruelty-free. I’ve given my thoughts on parabens in the past, but if the exclusion of such an ingredient means something to you, keep that in mind.

Knowing all of that, let’s take a brief look at the ingredients and then my thoughts on the product! Below are the ingredients (as listed on CosDNA): Read more…

That’s how I feel about the¬†40 Carrots Carrot+C Vitamin Serum!* I’ve been using this product for years and it has been pretty much the only Vitamin C Serum that I’ve been faithful to. It was a discount find at Marshalls, so when I do see it, I buy it in bulk. And if I don’t see it at my local Marshalls, I peruse the nearby stores and hope to get lucky.

But what is it about the 40 Carrots Carrot+C Vitamin Serum that gets me going? I’ve always wondered myself. I mean, I feel like it works… But does it? Today I’m going to do a little breakdown of the product and ¬†see if it really is doing all the wonders a Vitamin C serums should be doing or if I should quit the fantasy and look for a big girl product.

Before we look at look deeper at the 40 Carrots Carrot+C Vitamin Serum, let’s talk about Vitamin C serums in general. What’s all the rage about them? Vitamin C serums are known for their anti-aging and brightening benefits. Basically, it can make your skin look firm and plump while helping fade those pesky post-acne dark spots. I’ve even read of Vitamin C serums increasing the effectiveness of sunscreen, however I’m not too sure about that claim, but I generally never skip some sort of Vitamin C in my daily morning routine, so perhaps it is working in my favor.^ With that in mind, let’s take a deeper look at what is going here with the 40 Carrots Carrot+C Vitamin Serum.
