Ah, the infamous NARS Orgasm blush. I admit that I was pretty behind on getting this product. *Spoiler Alert: I bought this already* But I feel it necessary to document my reasoning for still getting this product. Also, I’ve got some good dupes, so you’ll want to see those. Maybe its something you have in your collection?
So if you’ve been living under a rock, makeup lovers around the globe love the NARS Orgasm blush.* It’s peachy, shimmery and compliment so many skin tones. I found this little sample on one of the inserts in an Allure magazine (btw, best part of getting the hard copy of the magazine), and I thought why not, right? So before I show some swatches, let’s first find out what NARS says about the product. According to NARS, who claims to be the “ultimate authority in blush,” the Orgasm blush is one of the “industry’s most iconic shades for cheeks. Natural, healthy-looking color that immediately enlivens the complexion. A light application of even the highest-intensity hues delivers a natural-looking flush.”
So is this blush a natural flush on the cheeks? Let’s look at some swatches. After that, we can check out some dupes and you can decide if you need to hold out or cave in like I did. Picture heavy post incoming!
Favorites are something that I’ve not really done. The most I talk about products is either a review or empties post… I’m exploring new territory here! It’s new and over time will improve. But for the time being, these are products that I’ve been using over and over, my current beauty favorites! I would typically start from left to right, but I think I’ll sort by category:
I know my vacation came and went, but I thought it still handy to not only show you what makeup I took with me, but to show you what I actually ended up using. I feel I always overdo it when it comes to packing, but I tried my best to minimize the load. I’ve separated all the products and even swatched them. So let’s take a closer look at what I’ve got here!
For those who follow me from my previous blog, you know that I’m a comic book lover. I’m happy to be able to share this passion with my children. All three of my kids read and enjoy Marvel comics, so when the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) started taking off, they decided they wanted to delve more into it. It all started with a single comic convention and the next thing I know, my husband and myself are learning to make props, sew and do makeup. My daughter has cosplayed Kate Bishop, Psylocke and Peggy Carter and Tony Stark and Gamora.
With the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, my oldest daughter wanted to be prepared for the movie premier. And like any mom would do, I took the time to do her makeup. My daughter recently had her hair dyed, so we opted to go with her hair and not a wig. Also, since I’ve been meaning to have a good recording of the whole process, the hubs thought it would be a good idea to try out GoPro for it. Take a peek and let me know what you think!
Below is a list of what I used:
