I’m here to talk to you about a sample, so that must mean #SampleSunday is here! w00t! 🤗 Today we’re going to talk about a mask, a sleeping mask to be exact! This is the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. If you’re not familiar with K-Beauty (or Korean Beauty), then just know that Laneige is a brand that has crossed over to the Western world in a big way, being sold at Sephora in Canada/US* and at Target in the States. Laneige is one of those brands that is mid-range in price. Not high end like say Amore Pacific or Sulwahsoo, but not uber affordable like Etude House or Skin Food. In the States I would say its the Origins amidst the range of Algenist down to Neutrogena.
So what is the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask?* Let’s take a look at the claims, courtesy of Laneige. According to the site, the Water Sleeping Mask is meant to hydrate and lock in moisture, brighten and purify the skin with Apricot and Evening Primrose extracts and soothe and relax with Sleepscent™, “an essential blend of ylang ylang, rose, sandalwood oil and orange flower, to relax and calm.” Additionally, the product does not contain parabens or phthalates.
Lastly, this product appears to have been reformulated, so what you see here and what I’ll attest to is the newer formula and is sold in the US.
Happy Sunday everyone! I hope your week has been swell. It’s been busy in this household right now with weddings, graduations (I have a highschooler now!) and packing for our vacation. But in between all of that, I’ve got a #SampleSunday post for you! Today I’ll be delving into the SkinFood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off. This is a fairly classic K-beauty staple and a lot of people have a lot of positive things to say about it. In this review I’ll talk a bit about what it is, what the ingredients are and how I felt the product performed.
So what exactly is the SkinFood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off? According to SkinFood this mask contains “…organic black sugar granules that exfoliate and nourish skin for a smooth, clean complexion.” That’s not a whole lot of info, so I went to check out info from other retailers. Most other retailers added some floofy language, but essentially say the same thing. This mask is an exfoliating mask that you layer on dry skin and let sit for 10-15 minutes and gently massage off with water.
With that bit said, let’s take a look at the ingredients and then see if we can see what we have going on. Below are the ingredients (as listed on CosDNA):
