This is my first full empties being on my no-buy. I’m pretty happy I’ve made it this far. I’m hoping to go through all the samples and full sizes I have, but perhaps I should set my goal on 3 months. Anyways, there’s quite a bit here so grab some tea or coffee and let’s get through it! Below are all of my thoughts on my September Empties!
Bonvivant Rose Botanical Mask Pack | I like rose masks and this one is pretty okay. A little tingly, but otherwise it feels nice. Sheet itself has a nice fit and the pack contains a good amount of essence.
Skinion Mexico Nopal Cactus Water Bomb Sheet Mask | I posted this on Instagram, but I really did like this mask. Afterthoughts are pretty much the same in the post. I would love to stock up this for the winter time.
Secret Key Nature Recipe Tea Tree Sheet Mask | This is was just an okay mask. The sheet didn’t fit well at all; eye holes were huge and this just fit really weird and the essence was just there. I don’t think I’d go out of my way to try this again.
TONYMOLY Daily Fresh Aloe Mask Sheet* | I originally bought this before our 2-week SoCal vacation. I knew we were all going to spend a lot of time in the sun, so I made sure to bring every aloe mask that I had. So we went to SoCal with this pack of 10 and about 4 other masks, and I think I only used one during our initial stay. It took me a bit of time to use the rest up, but I can say I really enjoy this mask. It felt nice and cooling on the skin and the mask itself fit and felt good. A really nice, relaxing mask. I didn’t notice any major changes, but I would use this just for relaxing.
Leaders Pore Gone For Good Pore Refining Mask* | This mask was beyond moisturizing, which surprised me. The essence was thick, but smoothing. I seriously loved everything about this. The sheet itself fit and felt nice, but that’s pretty consistent with Leaders masks. I don’t know how pore refining it was, since I only used it once. I had no negative reaction to it and would recommend for all skin types. Those with oily skin may not need moisturize after use.
The Face Shop Jeju Volcanic Lava Pore Cleansing Foam | This cleanser is best for oily skin. It’s pretty strong and leaves you squeaky clean. It did dry out my skin, so I had to make sure to supplement more moisture with the rest of my skincare routine. I didn’t dislike it, but I didn’t love it.
CosRx Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol | If you’re having breakouts or have acne-prone skin, this is the toner for you. I only had a couple of little packets of this and I used when I couldn’t figure out why my skin was acting up. I finally found the culprit, but this helped clear my skin up instantly. Love, love, love!
Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water* | Decent micellar water. They pretty much all seem the same to me. As long as they can remove my mascara, I like it. I will say this didn’t leave any residue behind, so that’s cool.
Julep No Excuses Invisible Sunscreen Gel SPF40* | I wasn’t sure how I felt about this sunscreen initially; I don’t think I had positive thoughts. But, I’ve really grown to love it. It’s definitely more for everyday wear and not for say a beach or heavy outdoor day. But it feels super nice on the skin and has a subtle shimmer to it. It’s one of the only gel sunscreens out there. I would love to do a comparison of the Glossier sunscreen since they appear very similar. I don’t see the comparison made, but I also know that not many people go out and use Julep skincare. Maybe at a later date when I’m not on a no-buy. I can do this. I would recommend this though. Not heavy and doesn’t leave you feeling greasy.
Oolu by Dr. Ohkims Orchid Toner | I got this from a friend who bought me a MEMEBOX grab bag when they had a pop-up in San Francisco. I hadn’t heard of Dr. Ohkims, but I did a bit of research and found out that the products are now discontinued. So sad because I absolutely loved this toner. I could tell a huge difference this made in my skin when I began using it. It’s gentle on the skin and the orchid flower is incredibly beautiful.
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel* | This was a nice gel cleanser that doesn’t leave skin feeling dry. I would say this is best for normal to combo skin. I do think those with dry skin can use it, but I suggest supplementing your routine to add more moisture. I do think there are other gel cleansers that are better than it, but its good. Just nothing that amazes me.
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion* | I never understood the power of this product until I purchased it. This really is amazing at destroying breakouts. I don’t have too many skin issues, so this took me quite some time to use. Can’t stress enough how necessary this is if you want to quickly reduce the size of problem spots.
(not pictured) Pacifica Cherry Kisses Hydrating Lipstick Wipes* | This cleaned up lipstick swatches, but it smelled bad. Well not bad, but weird. Like cherry Otter Pops weird. This didn’t dry out my lips, but it wasn’t hydrating at all. Not wasting money on this again. Didn’t really notice anything special with it.
The Air Repair Complexion Boosting Moisturizer, Nature Republic Collagen Dream 90 Skin Booster, Nature Republic Collagen Dream 70 Emulsion and Heimish All Clear Balm will all be reviewed in upcoming #SampleSunday posts. The NeoStrata Restore Facial Cleanser has been previously reviewed.
Formulary 55 Sea Mineral Body Polish in Grapefruit and Rosemary* | I mentioned this in my recent Current Favorites post, but this scrub is really amazing. Once I’m off this no-buy, I’ll be stocking up on this.
Pacifica Underarm Deodorant Wipes* | These wipes won’t keep you dry or smelling fresh all day, but they do the trick after quick workout or sweating endlessly in your office that’s a sauna. The latter is me, btw. 😂 I keep packs of these at my office for that reason. I still have one more pack, but I’ll have to think of an office friendly solution once I run out. I do recommend for travelling and the likes, but not for your go-to deodorant.
Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion* | Pretty generic lotion, but this is great for healing tattoos. Once you get to that “wonderful” peeling phase, start slathering this on. Otherwise, this is one of the only lotions that works for my dry legs. I love this stuff. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done.
HASK Blue Chamomile & Argan Oil Blonde Care Deep Conditioner | If you didn’t know, I’ve bleached my hair, so I needed to find something care for my hair so it doesn’t get too brassy. This definitely helps tone my hair, in-between salon visits, so I’m a big fan of that. The whole Blue Chamomile range is pretty good. My oldest daughter has blonde hair now and she uses the range. We haven’t needed to tone her hair since having the initial lightening done! This hair mask also leaves the hair feeling very soft and weightless too. I’d buy this again, but I’m just waiting for them to stock tubs or bottles of this as opposed to packets.
OGX Dreamy Hydration Pink Sugar Plum Shampoo (PR) | I wish this range wasn’t limited edition because I really do think this might be my favorite OGX range. It smelled great, left my hair feeling soft, weightless and hydrated. It literally did everything it claimed. OGX, please bring this back!! 😍
Rahua Omega 9 Hair Mask* | This was a decent hair mask, but I couldn’t really tell if I really liked it. I have medium to long length and thick hair, so I really only got one use out of this. My hair did feel nice and soft, but typically that isn’t enough for me to want to go out and buy a full size.
Nature Republic Argan Essential Deep Care Hair Pack | I personally love Nature Republic hair masks. They always seem to last a long time in my hair. If there’s ever a k-beauty hair product I would recommend, this would be it. Leaves your hair very soft, lightweight and in amazing shape for quite some time. For me, I can feel the effects for over a week!
e.l.f. Shine Eraser Oil Blotting Sheets* | Standard oil blotting sheets. I buy these in bulk when e.l.f. does their huge sales. I don’t think you need to spend more than a couple of bucks for blotting sheets honestly. I go through these like wildfire in the summer months though. See above for office is a sauna reference. 😂
Wet ‘N Wild Illumi-Naughty Highlighting and Concealing Pen in A Happy Medium* | Not empty, but it separated. So gross. But it was a good product. A tad drying for my under eyes, but the coverage was nice.
Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black Eau de Parfum* | As mentioned in my current favorites, this is a rediscovered love. I finished off this little bottle, but I have one more rollerball. I’m going to try to have that one last, but I can’t make any guarantees.
Juicy Couture Peace, Love & Juicy Couture Eau de Parfum* | This is an interesting scent. It’s very green and floral. Not a bad scent, but definitely a seasonal scent. It wasn’t my favorite, but it was nice.
The Glossier Priming Moisturizer will be reviewed in an upcoming #SampleSunday post.
Wet ‘N Wild Brush up! Brush Cleansing Cloths | These seemed like such a cool idea, but they weren’t that awesome honestly. I even forgot I had them. Technically not empty, just dried out. It’s no surprise that these are discontinued.
And that’s it! Hope you’re all having a wonderful day and here’s to a good week! Let me know your thoughts on any of these products! Love ’em, hate ’em?
