Can you believe that August is just about over already? I can’t, but as you know, tomorrow is the 31st! Yikes! Anyways, today we’ll be talking empties. Not just any empties, my August Empties! A day early, but I wanted to get a #SampleSunday out since it has been a while. But that aside, let’s get to it!
Studio 35 Beauty Makeup Remover Towelettes* | These are surprisingly good! I used them for removing swatches, but I did use it on my face whenever was too lazy to do my full routine. This wasn’t often, but definitely did it on a couple of travel nights. Anyways, very good makeup remover, would get again to clean up swatches.
40 Carrots Carrot+C Vitamin Serum* | I did a more thorough review on this and while its not the best Vitamin C serum out there, I love it still and it fits in my routine. I’m on my last bottle right now, but I have a couple of other Vitamin C serums to go through before I repurchase this.
Burt’s Bees Herbal Blemish Stick* | Love this and have for some time now. I think I’ll need to do a breakdown of this in the future, but that may need to wait until I don’t have any blemish/spot treatments left in my stash. This is gentle and even my teenage son loves it.
The Wish Formula Bubble Peeling Pad, Banila Co. Clean It Zero and Cactus Skincare Lemon Myrtle Cleanser will all be reviewed in upcoming #SampleSunday posts.
Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration After Sun Lotion* | This is my favorite after sun product. It’s cooling and hydrating because it has both the gel and cream formulas in one. I use this when I know I for sure have a sunburn the day I get it. Just use it at night and really coat the burn. After that, I typically wake up with skin that isn’t too angry anymore. I have other after sun gels that I’ll be using if I need them, including a full size of this, so no need to repurchase.
Kiehl’s Creme de Corps* | My new favorite body lotion! I bought this on a whim because my latest tattoo was in the peeling phase and I didn’t have a lotion on me. I happened to be at the mall and I hopped in to a Kiehl’s to grab this. After immediately putting this on, I knew is was going to stay in my life forever. I’ve since bought a larger size, but it may be a bit before I get to it. I have a few other lotions/oils to finish off. However, this instantly became a favorite.
L’Occitane Almond Smoothing and Beautifying Milk Concentrate* | I really don’t have much to say about this lotion. It was nice, but it didn’t last nearly all day on my dry skin. Definitely not something I’d go out and purchase.
Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant Deodorant in Cool Essentials* | I needed this to travel with because nobody wants to be gross and sweaty at EVO. Also, nobody wants to be gross and sweaty during the hottest months of the year. At least for me, I can always count on Dove deos. They seem to work best for my body chemistry.
Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant in Beauty Finish* | Let me preface by saying, I’m a sweaty person. My face gets sweaty, my elbow pits get sweaty and my arm pits get really sweaty. It’s a fact I’ve grown to live with. I’m sure this is why I’ve yet to find a green deodorant to work for me because nothing combats the sweatiness. So since the months are warmer, I’ve had to pick this up. It works, I like this particular scent. Nothing really left to say.
Aveda Rosemary Mint Body Polish (PR) | This is a pretty decent body scrub. Not my favorite, but it works well enough. I find that its good if you’re a tad sensitive to harsher/grittier scrubs.
The Tatcha Soothing Silk Body Butter will all be reviewed in an upcoming #SampleSunday post.
SheaMoisture Peace Rose Oil Complex Nourish & Silken Conditioner (PR)* | I’m on the fence about this product. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it. I felt like I had a hard time washing this out of my hair. It felt heavy and didn’t really do much for me. My hair would feel extremely weighed down if I used this in conjunction with the shampoo. I still have the shampoo and I’ll use it up, but this was tough for me to get through. Also, I love roses, but not a scent I want lingering throughout the day. Definitely a pass from me.
Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo* | This is a household favorite. Everyone uses this and loves it. It helps my son who has dandruff, my husband and youngest love the invigorating tingle and my eldest daughter and I love it for when we need to really cleanse after a few days of consistent dry shampooing. Would definitely recommend if you have dandruff or need a good clarifying shampoo. Despite the no-buy, since this is a product everyone uses, I’ll be repurchasing this.
OGX Miracle Coconut Oil (PR)* | This has to be my new favorite hair oil. I attribute my more recent hair health to this oil. It kept my hair soft and shiny and kept my ends nice and smooth.
The L’Oreal OleoTherapy Self-Heating Hot Oil will all be reviewed in an upcoming #SampleSunday post.
Pacifica Dream Big Mascara (PR)* | This wasn’t my favorite mascara. It didn’t really make my lashes super long nor really voluminous. However, it was decent. I’m not really a fan of the gimmicky wand, which lengthens and shortens depending on how you twist the top. But, I did finish it up and it was just ok. There are other affordable mascaras out there, so this is a pass.
Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream in Warm Glow* | I love this CC cream, but I is not for those with oily skin. I recommend for normal to dry and even then, you’ll need to set this. I would much rather prefer this formula in the winter, but this color is dark for my winter tone. I’m a good solid medium when I’ve got a tan and this is still slightly too dark for me.
Coola Makeup Setting Spray SPF30* | I’m not sure how I feel about this product. I’m not sure if the bottle the sample comes in is to blame or not, but this sprays out like a water hose. Sometimes its a fine mist and others I’m getting zapped near my eye. I also don’t like the very tacky feeling this leaves, so really not a fan. I used it for a couple of outdoor events and I have one more bottle. I’ll try to get through it during the summer. Not sure it added more SPF protection, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to use it.
e.l.f. Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter in Medium* | This has been a favorite of mine for some time now. I love how light it is on the skin. Sure it doesn’t provide the most coverage, but I don’t really look for that. I still like for my skin to show through. I have so many other concealers right now, so I won’t be purchasing this anytime soon.
The Taylor Swift Wonderstruck Eau de Toilette and Issey Miyake L’eau D’Issey Eau de Toilette will all be reviewed in an upcoming #SampleSunday post.
Grown Alchemist Vanilla & Orange Peel Hand Cream* | I really enjoyed this hand cream. Very moisturizing and a little goes a very long way. This cream lasted me for quite some time due to that. It definitely helped out with my super dry hands. Would highly recommend!
The Jurlique Citrus Hand Cream will all be reviewed in an upcoming #SampleSunday post.
