Happy Wednesday everyone! This post is a rehash of a post from my old blog, but still something I want to talk about. If you know me, you know I love to collect perfumes. Not like hoarding, because I use them all up, but I do have quite a few. I’m not really a connoisseur, but I do give each fragrance a sniff, even those that may be considered cheap. And I’ll be pretty honest, I’m a little embarrassed about this, but then not at the same time. It’s weird. Today we’re going to talk about celebrity scents, in particular, my favorite celebrity scents. Like I said, I’m a huge sucker for perfumes in general, so my spiral down the celebrity scent train was just a matter of time. Part of me is all, “you’re too old for this shit!” and the other part of me just doesn’t GAF. So let’s talk about this!
It all started with Lady Gaga Fame. I’m a fan of Lady Gaga and so I really got it for sentiment, but then I tried it and instantly fell in love. It’s floral, which is typically not my go-to, but it’s also fruity and deep. Must be the honey and balsamic in it. Definitely a sexy, night time scent. However, I’m boring, so I wear it whenever I want. And then *it* happened… We moved near a Marshalls.
The best part about shopping at Marshalls? The deals on beauty products, namely the scents. I mean, celebrity scents! I told myself that I would only experiment of celeb scents if I didn’t pay full price. And that’s exactly what I did. Until I decided I need to pay full price for Ariana Grande Sweet Like Candy. Ulta got me with a sweet bag deal on any fragrance purchase. But hey, the girls have a carry-on luggage bag now! 😊
So what are my favorite celebrity scents? Let’s take a look at what I have here (and no, this isn’t all I have):
There’s nothing I love more than a good clarifying shampoo. As someone who washes their hair at most three times a week, one of those washes needs to be a clarifying wash to remove excess oils and product. I can’t stress enough how amazing it feels when your hair is just clean. Not stripped and dry, but clean and lightweight. While I currently have a favorite, I figured I should use the samples I have from all the boxes I’ve gathered. This brings us to today’s #SampleSunday, the Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo. We’ll take a look at what the brand claims the product does, a brief look at the ingredients and then my thoughts.
Starting with the brand claims, Number 4 states the Clarifying Shampoo is a, “weekly deep cleansing therapy that doesn’t strip moisture or color.” Additionally, the Number 4 says this is “…nutritive to scalp, hair and shower decor. It is the perfect go-to product for anyone desiring a deeper clean without sacrificing condition.” Number 4 also states this can be used weekly or daily to remove build-up or oils. Another note, this shampoo is free of sulfates and parabens and is vegan and gluten free.
So now, let’s jump into the ingredients and then go over my general thoughts on using this product. Below are the ingredients (as listed on CosDNA):
I know my vacation came and went, but I thought it still handy to not only show you what makeup I took with me, but to show you what I actually ended up using. I feel I always overdo it when it comes to packing, but I tried my best to minimize the load. I’ve separated all the products and even swatched them. So let’s take a closer look at what I’ve got here!
I’m baaaack! First off, happy Sunday! Secondly, I have to freely admit, vacation and tattooing took a ton out of me. Not only did I need to catch up on a lot of stuff, but I was so drained from “relaxing” that I needed to relax more! But now that that’s all done with, let’s get back to business and back to blogging!
Today’s #SampleSunday is a green beauty find from the October ’15 Petit Vour box I received. This is the Ursa Major Fantastic Face Wash. This gel cleanser is marketed as being able to remove oil/grime, brighten and clarify as well as soothe irritated skin. Ursa Major also states that the sulfate-free formula is best for normal, combo and oily skin types. Additionally, the brand states the scent of the product is “a spirited fusion of premium, whole essential oils including cedar, spearmint, lime, lemon, rosemary, black spruce, owyhee, vetiver and lavender.”
There’s not much out about this product, so I suppose I’ll do my best to confirm what I can and then give a bit more. So without wasting anymore time, let’s take a look at this cleanser. Let’s start with the ingredients (as listed on CosDNA):
Happy Sunday! Hope you’ve been well since I last posted. I’ve been on vacation with the family here and it’s been pretty awesome. The evidence is all on Instagram. 😉
Anyways, let’s get to the matter at hand, a #SampleSunday! If you were a follower of my older blog, you’ll know I had reviewed this, but since I recently emptied a tube, I thought I’d do a revisit. So without further ado, let’s take a look at the Jurlique Lip Care Balm!
So first let’s talk about what the Jurlique Lip Care Balm is and what it claims to do. According to the Australian Jurlique site, this balm is a “…gentle moisturizer for dry, chapped lips.” Jurlique also states, “…this rich balm conditions and softens, keeping lips moist and supple.” Additionally, the inclusion of Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Beeswax and Soybean Oil are all ingredients Jurlique claim to deeply moisturize and protect against moisture loss.
Knowing that, will this balm be enough for my extremely dry, chapped lips? Inquiring minds must know!
