Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads

August is here?! I swear, the older I get, the more the year flies by. Amirite?¬†ūüėȬ†Anywho, let’s get to sampling, shall we? You know how you go to Ulta and there’s the aisle of doom, but there’s also a kiosk section with travel sizes? At least mine does… Anyways, I was on the hunt for a specific product, couldn’t find it, so I picked up the¬†Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads.* I had not seen this around and I was looking for a toner pad to take with me on a trip, so I thought “why not?” Right?

So what are the¬†Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads? According to Juice Beauty, the Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads, “help brighten, smooth and tone while reducing the appearance of dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles.” Juice Beauty also states, “these luxurious, eco-friendly bamboo pads are saturated with antioxidant-rich organic fruit acids to brighten while extracts of algae, Vitamin B3 and plant-derived sodium hyaluronate reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as dark spots and discoloration, for optimum age-defying results.” In addition, the brand says these pads are good for almost all skin types, minus those with sensitive or rosacea skin, and for those in their 20’s and up.

Other bits to know, the¬†Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Nightly Brightening Pads is formulated without¬†parabens, petroleum, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances. I haven’t mentioned yet, but Juice Beauty is also cruelty-free. I’ve given my thoughts on parabens in the past, but if the exclusion of such an ingredient means something to you, keep that in mind.

Knowing all of that, let’s take a brief look at the ingredients and then my thoughts on the product! Below are the ingredients (as listed on CosDNA): Read more…

40 Carrots Carrot+C Vitamin Serum

You ever love a product so much, but never hear anything about it? That’s how I feel about the¬†40 Carrots Carrot+C Vitamin Serum!* I’ve been using this product for years and it has been pretty much the only Vitamin C Serum that I’ve been faithful to. It was a discount find at Marshalls, so when I do see it, I buy it in bulk. And if I don’t see it at my local Marshalls, I peruse the nearby stores and hope to get lucky.

But what is it about the 40 Carrots Carrot+C Vitamin Serum that gets me going? I’ve always wondered myself. I mean, I feel like it works… But does it? Today I’m going to do a little breakdown of the product and ¬†see if it really is doing all the wonders a Vitamin C serums should be doing or if I should quit the fantasy and look for a big girl product.

Before we look at look deeper at the 40 Carrots Carrot+C Vitamin Serum, let’s talk about Vitamin C serums in general. What’s all the rage about them? Vitamin C serums are known for their anti-aging and brightening benefits. Basically, it can make your skin look firm and plump while helping fade those pesky post-acne dark spots. I’ve even read of Vitamin C serums increasing the effectiveness of sunscreen, however I’m not too sure about that claim, but I generally never skip some sort of Vitamin C in my daily morning routine, so perhaps it is working in my favor.^ With that in mind, let’s take a deeper look at what is going here with the 40 Carrots Carrot+C Vitamin Serum.

Starting with ingredients, below is what is in the 40 Carrots Carrot+C Vitamin Serum (as listed on CosDNA): Read more…

July 2017 Empties

First and foremost, sorry about the smudgy corner. I later discovered that the lens I was using was a bit dirty. Anyways, I don’t know about you, but July flew right by. I know that I had had a few moments where I was less active, but with traveling, work and then the passing of my Boston, Tareek, I felt really drained. I’m feeling more energized now, but I think it may take me a bit to get up to speed.

Anyways, that was a bit of a ramble, but here’s my July ’17 Empties! Read more…

OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner

I’m so picky when it comes to hair care. Growing up in a salon made it difficult to trust anything that’s sold in the drugstore. You can’t imaging how many times, from various stylists, about how there’s nothing of high quality in the drugstore. However, as time went on, and times got financially trying, I began to venture to the land of cheaper deals for hair care. In comes OGX. I’ve always been curious about the brand and had wanted to try their products, but I never knew where to start. I’ve been lucky enough to be sent some products, so today we’ll talk about a set I recently emptied. Let’s chat about the¬†OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner.

So what is the OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water¬†range? This range is coconut water based and¬†is, “…an ultra-light splash of hydration infused with coconut water, electrolytes and coconut oil helps take your hair from parched to silky, shiny perfection.” So did this range provide that? #TheBreakdown | Thoughts on the #10Products10Days Challenge

#10Products10Days Challenge

Despite being such a big skincare junkie, I have a pretty basic routine. My husband may seem to insist otherwise, but I really do stick to the bare bones of a routine. One morning I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and stumbled upon the below ‘gram. I instantly wanted to join. I mean, how hard could it be?¬†#10Products10Days? Easy peasy!

My already minimal routines surely would get me through this. My AM routine typically consists of a cleanse or rinse, toner, a Vitamin C serum, a moisturizer (albeit oil or cream) and then SPF. My PM routine isn’t much different; a first cleanse to remove makeup, a second cleanse to remove leftovers, toner, a serum or form of Retinol and a night cream. I sometimes add things in for eye care, by my under eye area isn’t particularly dry, therefore it tends to get left out. With this in mind, let’s take a look at the ten products I chose,¬†reasons for said products and thoughts on the whole experiment. Read more…
